The Smyser-Royer Company 1907-1941
This site is dedicated to the work of the Smyser-Royer
Company of Philadelphia and York, Pennsylvania, as well as
other
companies that manufactured similar lighting prior to World War II.
Like their competitors, they were manufacturers of monumental exterior lighting columns, torchieres,
wall brackets and lanterns as well as spandrels, verandas and other
highly
decorative cast iron components. Unlike their competitors, they
specialized in monumental lighting. They cast primarily in iron although
bronze and aluminum were advertised later. Although they have been gone
for over 70 years, Many fine examples of their
work survive.
